With equal treatment of all low-carbon technologies to full potential of nuclear energy

Dr. Dejan Paravan, CEO of GEN energija, participated today in Brussels in the international conference Nuclear Energy 2.0, which discussed the central role of nuclear energy in achieving the climate, social, and strategic goals of the European Union in partnership with renewable energy sources. The conference was jointly organized by three European energy companies: EDF (France), FORTUM (Finland), and Vattenfall (Sweden).

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Robert Golob, a meeting of the political leadership on Slovenia's energy self-sufficiency and the long-term use of nuclear energy, including the decision-making process regarding the construction of the second block of the nuclear power plant, took place today in Ljubljana. Representing GEN Energy, the project leader for the construction of the new nuclear power plant in Krško (JEK2), the meeting was attended by the CEO, Dr. Dejan Paravan.

On Thursday, January 18, 2024, we hosted members of the Committee for Infrastructure, Environment, and Spatial Planning in the GEN Group. The company's management presented the GEN Group, our operations, and investment plans, with a focus on the JEK2 project.
Slovenian companies were presented with opportunities for inclusion in nuclear supply chains

Today, at the GEN Information Center, we hosted a presentation on the possibilities of involving Slovenian companies in international supply chains for the construction and maintenance of nuclear power plants in Europe. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce Posavje. Nuclear power plants form the foundation of reliable and sufficient electricity supply, enabling the achievement of desired goals in the green transition and sustainable energy systems. In the next two decades, European countries plan to build more than 10 new nuclear power plants, including the planned construction of the second block of the nuclear power plant in Krško.

The committees of the National Assembly for Infrastructure, Environment, and Spatial Planning, as well as for the Economy, held a joint session on Wednesday, October 11th, to discuss the importance of constructing a new nuclear power plant in Krško (JEK2). The urgent session, convened at the request of the parliamentary group SDS, was attended by the CEO of GEN energy, Dr. Dejan Paravan, and the head of the Technical Sector, Dr. Bruno Glaser.
